Tapered Roller Bearings
As with other bearings, the Tapered Roller Bearing consists of four parts – an inner raceway, outer raceway, retainer and rolling elements. The names given to these components have changed so that the inner raceway is referred to as the CONE whilst the outer raceway is called the CUP. In most cases, the cone is manufactured with a non-removable retainer and rolling elements and it’s common in the industry to refer to this assembly as the ‘Cone’.
Tapered Roller Bearings are available in a variety of configurations such as single-row, double-row and four-row.
