Design & Construction
Manufactured by NACHI – one of Japan’s leading bearing producers – the 5314 is precision-ground from high-carbon chromium bearing steel (AISI 52100 / JIS SUJ2), heat-treated to achieve optimum hardness and fatigue resistance. The double-row design effectively combines two single-row angular contact bearings in a back-to-back arrangement within a single unit, enabling the bearing to accommodate axial loads in both directions as well as tilting moments. The standard 30-degree contact angle provides an effective balance between radial and axial load capacity in both directions. The open design allows free oil and grease flow, making this bearing suitable for applications with external lubrication systems or oil bath arrangements.
Performance
Rated for a basic dynamic load capacity of 163.0 kN and a static load capacity of 132.0 kN, this bearing delivers dependable load-carrying ability and long calculated service life under correct operating conditions. Permissible speeds reach 3,200 rpm with grease lubrication and 4,300 rpm with oil lubrication. Double-row angular contact ball bearings are a compact alternative to matched pairs of single-row bearings, offering simplified mounting and reduced assembly width while providing bi-directional axial load support and increased rigidity.
