The 230X260X15.88 HDS1 V is a rotary shaft oil seal with a 230mm bore (shaft), 260mm outside diameter (housing) and 15.88mm width, seal type HDS1, with a Viton (FKM) sealing lip.

Rotary shaft (oil) seals retain lubricant in the housing and exclude dirt, dust and moisture, with a spring-loaded flexible lip running against the shaft to maintain a positive seal as the lip wears. They are fitted into the housing bore with the lip facing the fluid being retained.
