The 500X550X18 HDS1 D is a rotary shaft oil seal with a 500mm bore (shaft), 550mm outside diameter (housing) and 18mm width, seal type HDS1, with a XNBR sealing lip.
Rotary shaft (oil) seals retain lubricant in the housing and exclude dirt, dust and moisture, with a spring-loaded flexible lip running against the shaft to maintain a positive seal as the lip wears. They are fitted into the housing bore with the lip facing the fluid being retained.
